bg视讯 Publishes 2023 Impact Report

bg视讯 today published its 2023 Impact Report, which outlines how 的 non-profit continues to address environmental challenges through its programs in bg视讯, 教育, “零浪费”, and 绿色空间s. The report provides statistics and details on how bg视讯 continues to work side by side with New York City agencies, 社区, and partners to create a more sustainable and climate resilient City, and inspires change on critical environmental issues.

The report highlights bg视讯’s ongoing efforts to build significant momentum both citywide and nationally to inspire environmental action. As a leading environmental organization in New York City, bg视讯 provides opportunities for New Yorkers of all ages to understand and connect with 的 life cycle of our environment, 植物, 食物, and nutritious eating.

“All New Yorkers deserve a city filled with green space, opportunities to live sustainably, and access to affordable, 有营养的食物. Impact Report 2023 highlights include:

  • We operated 66 食物 access locations across 的 5 boroughs working with 207 regional farms, giving New Yorkers nearly 3,000 unique opportunities throughout 的 year to access fresh local 食物s.  

  • bg视讯分配2.6 million of local 食物 distributed through our Food Hub – 90% 食物 sourced from 的 Hub went to organizations dedicated to expanding 食物 security across our City.

  • bg视讯收集了2个.2 million pounds of 食物 scraps for 堆肥ing, reaching 24 million pounds of 食物 scraps diverted from landfills since 2011.

  • We engaged and prepared 459,500 孩子们 and adults in environmental stewardship.

  • We renovated 30 community gardens and built 7 new gardens 在布鲁克林, 布朗克斯, Queens and Manhattan, 总计46,500 square feet of green space added to our city landscape.
